This memorial site i have created for a dear niece laura aged just 21 ,who sadly passed away due to
a drug overdose through no fault of her own .
An old boyfriend decided to give laura a drug she had been off for 3 yrs since 17yrs old, and she
was doing so well too her mum had told me . until this stupid man( so called boyfriend) came to see
her from yorkshire and somehow she ended up giving in to his tempting her i guess ,but he gave way
too much of the drug to her and it caused cardiac arrest..
She was rushed to a hospital in wales was resusitated and had to be put on life support , however
her brain had swollen so much we were told that recovery from such head trauma and organ damage the
chance of survival was more or less zero ..
however we prayed and begged for her to recover,
we stood at her bedside and i stroked her arm ,held her hand and spoke to her ,after making the rush
down to wales from yorkshire , all the time i was watching her mum diane devastated and in shock at
the state her daughter was in ..
Diane spoke of how she would look after her daughter no matter what brain damage she sustained
..like any mum would
But in early evening of that december night i took a phone call from my sister diane devastated
telling me laura had lost the fight of life and she had quietly passed away ..

I stood by your bed last night;
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying you found it hard to sleep.
I spoke to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
'It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here.'
I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached to me.
I was with you at the shops today; your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today; you tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.
I flew with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently landed on you; I smiled and said, 'it's me.'
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, 'I never went away.'
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say 'good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning.'
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll fly across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you,
there is so much for you to see.
